How to Add an IPTV Playlist to Any Player
An IPTV playlist is the list of channels and movies your player loads from your subscription. You can add it with an M3U link or with Xtream Codes, and it works the same way in almost every IPTV app. This guide explains both formats, how to add your IPTV playlist and how to fix one that won't load.
IPTV playlist formats: M3U vs. Xtream Codes
An M3U link is a single URL containing your whole channel list. Xtream Codes login uses a username, password and server instead. Both give you the same channels. Xtream is easier to type, and some players only accept M3U.
Add an M3U playlist to IPTV Smarters or TiviMate
- Open the app and choose Load your playlist or file/URL (Smarters) or Add playlist → Enter URL (TiviMate).
- Paste the full M3U link from your welcome message.
- Add the EPG URL if the app asks for one, so the TV guide appears.
Add a playlist using Xtream Codes
Open the player and choose Login with Xtream Codes API (sometimes labelled "Xtream" or "XC"). Enter the three details from your welcome message:
- Username and password: case-sensitive, so copy them exactly.
- Server URL: include
http://and the port number if one is given.
Give the profile any name you like, then press Add user. The first load downloads the channel list and TV guide, which can take a minute.
Add an M3U playlist to VLC
In VLC on a computer, go to Media → Open Network Stream, paste the M3U link and click Play. Open the playlist view (Ctrl + L) to browse channels.
Common IPTV playlist problems
- Long links often get cut off when copied. Paste into a notes app first to check the ending.
- Make sure the link begins with
http://, nothttps://, unless we sent HTTPS. - Still stuck? Message support and we'll test the link from our side.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my IPTV playlist on several apps?
Yes. Add it to as many apps as you like. Only the number of simultaneous streams is limited by your plan.
What is an EPG link?
The EPG link loads the TV guide: what is on now and next for each channel. Xtream login loads it automatically, while M3U players usually need it pasted separately.
Why does my IPTV playlist take long to load?
Large playlists hold thousands of channels and movies. The first load can take a minute or two, and later loads are faster because the app saves a copy.
How do I update my IPTV playlist?
Most apps refresh automatically every day. To update now, use the app's refresh or reload option, or remove the playlist and add it again.
