How to Set Up IPTV on a Samsung or LG Smart TV

Which IPTV player to use on a smart TV

Samsung and LG TVs can't sideload apps, so use a player from their official stores. Good options are IPTV Smarters Pro, IBO Player and Smart IPTV. Some players charge a small one-time activation fee to the app developer. That fee is separate from your subscription.

Step 1: Install the IPTV app

Samsung: press Home, open Apps, search for the player and select Install.
LG: press Home, open the LG Content Store, search and install.

Step 2: Note the device ID

Open the app. Players like IBO Player show a MAC address and device key on the first screen. Write both down, or send us a photo of the screen on WhatsApp and we'll set it up for you.

Step 3: Add your IPTV subscription

For Xtream-based apps such as IPTV Smarters, log in directly on the TV:

Open the player and choose Login with Xtream Codes API (sometimes labelled "Xtream" or "XC"). Enter the three details from your welcome message:

• Username and password: case-sensitive, so copy them exactly.
• Server URL: include http:// and the port number if one is given.

Give the profile any name you like, then press Add user. The first load downloads the channel list and TV guide, which can take a minute.

For MAC-based apps, go to the player's website, enter the MAC address and device key, and paste your M3U link. Restart the app on the TV to load the channels.

Tips for a smoother picture

• Use a wired connection if the TV is far from the router.
• Turn off motion smoothing for sports to avoid stutter.
• Update the TV firmware in Settings → Support → Software Update.
